#STRONGHOLD CRUSADER 2 METACRITIC FREE#
You are free to buy it if you enjoy games more for their graphics than their gameplay. They focused too much on realism, and it is very disappointing.
If you liked these games, then this game will be for you. You will be very disapointed.Ĭrusader 2 was made for stronghold 2 and 3 fans, that are used to big ui and interfering graphics. If you are a big SC:H fan, do NOT buy it. Truth is, old school crusader was always better. We don't care about graphics, we care about gameplay. Now it's more like the beauty of an amazing castle in 3D. It helped so much as you didnt need to worry about anything apart from your precious economy. In SC:H, the size of buildings and walls was much smaller. Every thing is much bigger and annoying to deal with. They are too big, too disturbing and interfering. Sure you can change some of the gameplay but not by that much! 50 wood? you kidding me? in SC:H it was 3 wood. for example, you need to pay 50 wood for a woodcutter's hut. The economics have changed, the camera has changed, and some of the crucial gameplay features also have changed. Tell me that it's less buggy than S3 and I'll at least get it on sale. Honestly I'll even accept 'It's better than Stronghold 3.' Give me that much. This game was heavily modified from its predecessor. Stronghold Crusader was a huge timesink to me, and I'm very passionate about the crusades, something that is almost never touched upon in video games. But it was so far off from a sequel, that I really thought it shouldn't even be under 20 dollars. Sure, a good sequel would have maybe been a decent price. To release it at 50 dollars was just so overpriced. I just had to make an account simply to state how disapointing this game was.

It was the first game in the series to introduce a cooperative mode that allows two players to control the same castle.By z0dac | Review Date: September 23, 2014 Stronghold Crusader II has several multiplayer modes.
The player can increase his or her reputation by offering the people more food, lowering taxes, or building pubs and churches. There's also a reputation meter that tracks what the people think of their lord. As far as I am concerned, they died a long time ago. Since then they have released nothing but unpolished games filled with bugs, glitches, broken features, ugly 3D models, etc. The player has to produce armor and weapons before hiring most types of units. Firefly's last and only two good games were the original Stronghold and Crusader which were released in 20 respectively. EconomyĮverything in Stronghold, from the food to the war, requires the player to establish a chain of production, such as a mill and a bakery to make bread. Most missions involve a siege of a castle, with the player as the attacker, the defender, or both. The player has to build the walls and towers, hire the knights and archers, and establish a productive medieval economy to support the war effort. The player assumes the role of a medieval lord who controls his castle. The game is similar to all Stronghold games. The game features historical figures like Saladin and Richard of England, as well as the characters from earlier games in the series, such as Rat and Wolf. The game's two campaign modes follow the two sides in the Crusades: the Crusaders and the Muslims. Stronghold Crusader II is set in the Middle East in the era of Crusades. It is the direct sequel to the 2002 spin-off of the series, Stronghold: Crusader. Stronghold Crusader II is the fifth game in Stronghold series of medieval strategies.
